One of the purposes of this site is to create an accessible database of the collections of Ballyfermot Heritage materials,  held at Dublin City Council's Ballyfermot Public Library . 

Given that part of the collection consists of photographs, both Ballyfermot Library and Ballyfermot Heritage Group encourage the taking of photograph of ordinary everyday life, preferably with a landmark or distinguishing feature in the photo, at least in the background.

This is because the collection has had numerous requests for photographs of the area from the past.  Unfortunately these are rare as people did, and generally do not, take pictures of the mundane landscape, the everyday ordinary environment.
