The Ballyfamous Talent Show is an eagerly awaited event on the social calendar at the Base every year and this year exceeded all expectations, with the talented youth of Ballyfermot showcasing their skills.
A huge array of singers, musicians, dancers and puppeteers took to the stage, demonstrating that Ballyfermot really has talent to burn! The Dare2Dream Drama Group kicked off the night’s entertainment with their version of “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from the musical “Annie”. After this, a huge array of performers including Dylan O’Sullivan on the tin whistle and freestyle dancer Leah Clarke entertained the packed crowd, filling the 90-seater black box theatre to capacity.
The night continued with the LBL hip-hop dance crew, Evan Dunne, Ryan Gibbon and Sean Carroll’s puppet show and many other performers, before Hollie Moore brought the show to a close with “Singing in the Rain”. The Base was delighted to welcome back special guests George Dunne and Mark Gavin. There two talented singer songwriters are well known to the Ballyfamous crowd, having honed their skills there in previous years. Both enthralled the crowd with their voices and guitar skills.
The Ballyfamous Talent Show is organised in conjunction with Ceol, and they would both like to thank the musicians, technicians and MCs who offered their services on the three nights as well as the adjudicators and all the singing and drama teachers who trained the acts from their performances. DVDs of the event will be available, place your order now at the Base!
