provides a range of services to the local community focusing on the provision of practical support, advice, guidance and information relating to employment, training and return to work and welfare rights options. The Gateway Service has been established to provide you with information and guidance in a confidential and accessible setting. For those who are short-term unemployed, it can provide information on current employment vacancies, both from LES/employer contacts and the FáS Jobs Bank and other internet based job sites. If you are interested in training or further education, the Gateway Staff can also help you to identify what types of courses are out there for you. The Gateway team will assist all job seekers with resources and information on:
· Job vacancies
· Training programmes
· Career options
· Welfare to work information
· An up-to-date C.V.
· Access to the internet
· Use of telephone / FAX / Email
· Support and direction on all information is available
Mediation is a specialist service which will provide you with the practical support, guidance and resources needed to re-enter the work-place after unemployment. The approach taken centres on you discussing with us what your priorities and goals are, and from there identifying and planning the steps needed to secure those goals.
The Mediation Service is based in our three offices, and is available to clients who have been unemployed for at least three months and are interested in exploring their options around getting back into work or training. A key aspect of mediation is the close links the service and our staff have with local employers, an invaluable resource when you are ready to start work again.
Service provision includes practical advice and support on accessing different types of:
· Employment
· Training
· Career Guidance
· Apprenticeships
Employment Support Schemes and the Retention of Benefits once Working Job Club is your opportunity to learn and develop the skills that you need to successfully get a job. The Job Club training programme is run over 4 weeks in the mornings . Training covers:
· How to identify what employers are really looking for in new employees
· How to find the right job for you
· How to prepare a CV which gets you an interview
· How to develop successful interview skills
There is no charge for attending the course, and it will not affect your social welfare payments or secondary benefits. You will have access to all of the support and resources you need to get the right job for you including:
· Current Job Vacancies
· Newspapers
· The Internet
· Information on training courses
· An up to date CV

Job Plan is a bridging course for people coming from a background of drug use who are interested in exploring options around re-entry into work and education and training The aim of Job Plan is to assist ex-substance users to establish:
· New Directions
· New Priorities
· New Networks
There is no charge for attending the course, and it will not affect your social welfare payments or secondary benefits. You will have access to all of the support and resources you need to get the right job for you including: The programme will run Monday to Friday in the mornings, for 20 weeks based in our Drumfinn Park office and will include training on computers, job-search skills, and personal development. From a history of active drug use into a drug free life whether working or training. A detox element is included to facilitate those interested in becoming drug free.
Pre entry to Job Plan – new Programme
Job Plan project runs a ten sessions, enhancing motivation work shop style intervention This module is being designed for the clients who present at a point when it is too late to take them on the course and perhaps too long, in their minds, to wait for the next course. The new programme is called The Low Entry Point Programme. Contact us for more information.
The Disability Support Service will prepare clients with disabilities and extra support needs for training and employment. The service is responsible for training, placement and support of clients with disabilities into the open labour market. The service will meet clients on a one to one basis develop a tailor-made vocational plan and support the client in achieving training and employment. The following services are available from the service.

· Individual training plans
· Vocational assessment
· One to one guidance and support
· Placement into training and employment
Literacy Support is a specialist service which aims to provide individuals with the practical support and assistance with literacy skills. The approach taken centres on the individual and assessing the practical levels of literacy and numeracy skills that are required to assist them take up training and employment opportunities.
· Group literacy tuition
· One to one literacy tuition
· Course is run 2 afternoons weekly Wednesdays and Thursday from 1.30pm
