Work Done by Young People for
Young People
The Base Youth Centre and Ballyfermot Leisure Centre was
where all the
action was happening last Wednesday 24th March with the
arrival of
Ballyfermot's Youth Expo 2010. St. Ultans Orchestra were on hand to help
the
young organisers launch the education and activities fair with lots of
activities
taking place across both venues.
The local schools visiting the exhibition were spoilt
for choice with a
huge amount of exhibition and information stands set up for the event.
Visitors
had the opportunity to try their hand at a range of activities from cake
decoration to digital photography to origami.
While exhibitors were keen
to
help the young people test their skills in football, pitch and putt,
hurling,
soccer and basketball. St. John's
Ambulance provided first aid demonstrations throughout the day while
Jimmy's
Kenpo Karate also attracted huge interest.
The outdoor climbing wall and drumming proved to be very
popular
activities. While the Black Box Theatre attracted huge crowds with
Kylemore
Senior College Bands, Ceol Choirs and St. Ultans Orchestra providing
music and
entertainment throughout the day.

Who are we?
Located on Sarsfield Road, Sarsfield House belongs to The Sons of Divine Providence whose mission statement is to commit to “Do good always, help everybody, and harm no one”, inspired by the Founder, St. Luigi Orione, and guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church.
It is a Day Care Centre for older people, providing meals and transport to 100 senior citizens per week. The service is delivered five days a week Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 4:30pm, to people living in Ballyfermot.
Our aim is to help combat loneliness and to encourage independent living and a greater enjoyment of retired life.

Last few places remaining, hurry!
The teachers training diploma programme will commence in the Ballyfermot IT Centre on Tuesday May 18th 2010. The programme will run for 80 hours running on Tuesday Evening 6.30pm - 9.30pm.
The reduced cost of the programme is €850.00 plus exam fees payable in sterling.
